then your problem has gotten exponentially worse - logic will tell you to either purchase flash 8 or
find another cpu to install the trial and save your work as MX 2004 - it is common practice to
always either make backup copies of all your work before opening and saving them in a new and
temporary version of the software or make sure you save them as MX 04 before thr trial ends - either
way there nothing anybody here could possibly do for you since you have basically dug yourself a
hole only you can get yourself out of.

good luck

Opening Flash8 files using MX 2004 Sidsix1

I lost my Flash mx 2004 instalation cd, so I placed an order for a replacement
cd. In the meantime I downloaded Flash 8 trial.
Using the flash 8 trial I opned some of the animation/pages I created with
mx2004, made some changes and saved them.
I just got my flash mx 2004 replacement cd. I re-installed mx 2004, and when I
try to open my old .fla files I get an error message reading "unexpected file
format".

Are flash 8 files not backwards compatible with flash mx 2004 files. Is there
some sort of app to make them backwards compatible?

Thanks in advance

Cool thnx. I guess I ll just install the trial on another PC, save as MX2004, upload to ftp/burn onto cd, download to pc with mx 2004 and problem solved..
