Flash .exe App on CD

flash (macromedia): I've used Flash to create an informational CD for my company's clients. Flash
acts as the easy interface and navigation for the disk. By clicking on the
navigation buttons in Flash, client-specific documents in PDF format open.
It's a paperless document solution for our clients, made simple and easy to use
for just about anyone. The .exe is on the CD, along with a few PDFs, a text
file that's loaded into the Flash .exe, and an autorun.inf file.

While I've exported Flash as a .exe for the purposes of putting it on a CD, it
works just like a website. The buttons that open the PDFs are literally set up
as "go to website" behaviors. It works great, but instead of just opening up
the PDF, it treats it as a download. So, when you click on a button, it
prompts you with a download window to Open or Save the PDF, even though the PDF
is on the CD. The Boss isn't happy with this prompt and wants me to get rid of
it.

Is there a way in Flash to just open a local file instead of download it? My
intent is for them to click on the button, and then the PDF opens up in Adobe
Acrobat automatically without any additional prompts or actions on the part of
the viewer.

You can use mProjector to convert you swf to an exe - it adds a bunch
of new classes to Flash - including on that has a call allowing you to
open documents
