You need to convert to a symbol first the apply a motion tween.

can i offer some advice? F1 (help) and give yourself more then 10 minutes to learn the basics. They
will really help you in the long run. Just search this forum (this exact question asked a few hours
ago) because almost every issue has been asked and answered before - especially the basic ones. Use
the google groups link in my sig (it's the entire archive of this forum.

good luck :)

I just started using Flash (like ten minutes ago) and I'm just trying to figure
out how to fade something in. I can't seem to find any controls for the
opacity though. Does anybody know how to animate the opacity of an image?
