Flash MX: copy then paste, then crash! gowarriors

flash (macromedia):
Having a very bizzare and odd problem with Flash MX. (not 2004 version).

This is driving me crazy, I can't figure out what is causing Flash MX to
crash!!!

We have a pictured opened in Fireworks, then when I go to copy and paste it in
Flash MX, flash quickly closes and exits, doesn't give me any error message or
anything, just closes me right out!

I've looked all over the net for a fix, but this problem hasn't occured I
don't think to very many many people.

What I've tried already:
-Uninstall, re-install a half dozen times - still doesn't work
-Made sure flash properties under "edit" for "clipboard" size was maxed out
-RAM has tons of space as far as usage/processes running in task manager
-Brand new computer with fast spec - Windows XP with all updated SP's

-All the other studio programs work fine, except this little annoying copy,
paste feature. I know I could just use import feature in Flash, but copy and
paste works better for what I need.

Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks in advance.

Can't guess what might be causing the crashing in your case, but fwiw I
rarely copy/paste from fireworks to flash because the import dialogue for fw
native png files is very useful and I expect importing is more robust.

Yeah I have no clue what will be causing it. I am thinking maybe it's not an
error in the flash program but maybe some setting I need to adjust on the cpu??

Don't know but i've wasted hours upon hours of trying to fix it....

It's difficult to troubleshoot such things long distance and without all
the information required--generally you check to see if it's file or system
specific--I'm not even sure if you using the same version of fw and flash?
It might be best to use one of your support incidents to contact MM tech
support directly if this functionality is important in your workflow. That
said, as I mentioned in my earlier reply, I would recommend that you import
fireworks native png files rather than using copy/paste--the import dialogue
offers options not available with copying... -Tom Unger

I think it has to be system specific. It's both the same version of Fireworks and Flash, from Studio MX.
