I would like to know if it is possible to crop images on the client side a.k.a
within the flash player on the browser ?

I have seen examples where the image is first uploaded to the server then on
the client side the user could zoom in and crop the image by sending the crop
co-ordinates to the server.

However I would like to find a solution where the file is manipulated locally
in the player and only the cropped data is sent to the server (the reason is
the images are typically several megs in size).

Since I have not found any image manipulation tools that use the flash
plugin/player technology I am guessing this can't be done ?

Any ideas guys ?
