If it uses features new to Flash 8, those features won't work. In any
case, you would have to save any FLA files to Flash MX 2004 FLAs.

ummm - Save as.....
read the help docs - this is basic flash - it is assumed you at least familiarize yourself with
basics before asking what is easily found already in help (f1)

Hi,
You need to hit File - Save As ... and, in the Save as type menu, Flash MX
2004
As David says however, if you have flash 8 elements (for example filters) they
will not work in mx 2004. You will be informed of anything which may cease to
work when you save as.
