flash (macromedia): search google or this thread for "active content" - been front page news all over the web for the
past couple weeks - several on-going threads right now in this very forum. the guy you bought it
from has nothing to do with this. he's probably using firefox and you are using IE.

I goofed around trying to create an audio player that would stream my voiceover
demos. I gave up and bought one from a web site which (for now) shall remain
nameless. It is an audio player that is supposed to stream audio from my site
when the page loads...then when you click START, it plays...theoretically.
HOWEVER, when you run your mouse over any part of the player, a border shows
up, as though the whole background was a button. To actually PLAY, you have to
click twice, once on any part of the player and then again on the START button.
The guy who sold it to me for $35 says he can't see anything wrong with it. I
say it is. He refuses to deal with it. I cannot find any Action Code to
indicate that there is a "hidden button" anywhere. If anyone wants to give me
a clue as to what's going on...please go to my test page with this at

There is no perfect browser .. each one has problems and bugs and gotchas.
If you are making content/page, then as you cannot force people to use a
particular browser, you have to author your sites so they work with all the
browsers people are likely to use .. and that means you certainly need to
make it work for IE.

All these people who put forward "everyone should use firefox" as a solution
are not really helping those who author the content (the majority of those
who frequent the newsgroups here).

Of course, if you prefer Firefox, then that's great. And it will mean that
(as a web user, rather than web author), the problems due to the
EOLAS-related IE changes will not affect you.
