Ctrl Alt enter preview scenes, previewing movie clip using that will cause the clip to
appear 50% off stage.
Not very reliable way. To preview clip you can always open library and press the play button.
Otherwise you need to preview/export entire file.

[First: I meant <i>not "100%"</i> sure in my first post - I really should work
on my tying]

@Urami:

When I'm in the timeline of a nested clip, and press ALT+CTRL+ENTER, that clip
alone is compiled to a swf and shown in the preview. It is (with the 3 tests I
made) placed at x:0,y:0 of the stage. If your clip has it's registration-point
in the center that leads to the behavior you're describing. Even then it can be
useful, as you can just enlarge the preview window.

I'm not sure though what the OP menat by "large" if it is the stage size this
method is of little to no use, but it comes in handy somtimes if you don't want
to compile a more comlpex movie in it's enirety or want isolate
interaction-behavors of two "inteligent" sub-clips.

I know about the 0/0 cord. Was only saying that it was design to test scenes
in mind which do have to coordinate reference point so it show properly.
Movie Clip Clips due to the reg point will position itself in top corner as there is
no stage to refer to so if you done your work and the reg is in the center not
top left, it's not much of a use. Readjust reg point just to preview could be tedious
so in general there is no method dedicated to it except the Library clip playback.

Anyway, perhaps we should place feature request, this has been around ever since flash 2
and it's time after almost 9 years to have proper movie clip test environment.

I would have guessed that <b>you</b> Urami, just wanted to clarify for the OP.

The feature request you propse is a good idea. An other thing comes to my
mind, so not diretly relate it is of the same "thoughtlessness" and annoying
for eons:
Resizing the canvas of a fla should work like in Photoshop - Adobe should know
how to do that ;-)
