...If you click in the search box ...the text cursor comes up like it should.
If you click anywhere else inside the flash object it will dissapear like it
should.
but if the cursors blinking in the input field and you click on anything
outside of the flash object....the blinking text cursor will not leave.
How do i fix this?

you could (as I did once) make an invisble (off Stage) textfield set the focus
there and destroy it. But the million doral question remainns when to do it, as
ther eis no event "onMouseLeavingStage" but you can for example do that if ther
is mo mouse movement for 10 sec, and reset focus, when tere is mousemovment, or
a keypress.

I you really have to.

Is this just a problem that MX 2004 has?
I wanted to test it on one I've seen online that works.....so I used a
decompiler....looked at the .fla file.....(nothing different)
then exported it again....same problem.

I think I may have read somewhere that this was a bug that they fixed with an
update.

I'm just writing this to let anyone interested know.

The problem that I was having was that wmode="Transparent" makes the
textfields go buggy in IE and in Firefox.

I removed the transparency and everything worked fine.....unfortunetly I have
to find another way to do my search box

As I've said many many times here .. never use WMODE=TRANSPARENT as it is
incredibly buggy in very unusual ways !!
