Flash version detection necessary? rok4u2

flash (macromedia): Hi - I'm making a very simple showreel page in flash to be sent to TV and
advertising people via a link in an email.
It will use progressive download to play a short video which requires Flash
player 7 or later to play.
So, would any of you guys hear alarm bells ringing if I said I wasn't going to
bother with the flash detection kit, assuming that these types of people would
definitely have version 7 of later?
I'm probably going to add a link in the email to allow them to download a
zipped quicktime movie if they wish to retain a copy.

The detection kit looks a bit daunting!

thanks in advance

It is quite likley that most of them will have a recent flash version, but
especialy with bigger corps and their IT-departementes you never can be sure.

It is sufficent if you mention the requirements in the email, but it really
depends on you , if "sufficent" is enough.

Learning about version detection is worth it in any case, and if you don't
like the detection kit, try:
