flash (macromedia):
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong ? When I publish my websites, they
seem to place a box around my movies that can only be cleared when you click on
the movie and then it goes away and you can start to use the buttons for
example.
here is a link so you can see what i am talking about.

No kidding mixTown, this has been NUMBER one question of all times, please, next time
try to search the forum before posting. Even today it came up few times right before your
thread.

Let me paste Chris's reply cause we all too tired typing that over and over and over again:

/////
if you use the web forums, the search function can be a little lack-luster - try searching the
google archives:
http://groups.google.com/advanced_group_search?q=group:*flash*&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

search for "active content" and there are 1400 returns in this forum alone.
If you search the web with google there are 379,000,000 returns - this has been front page news all
over the web for a few months.

Thanks for your patience and answering my question - kind of.
While I am not a beginner to forums, I am a beginner to flash it would seem.
I did several
searches on this forum using the search engine here. I typed in things a
beginner would understand, like
box around movie, double click movie, etc - results were nothing or something
not relevant.
I still don't understand what the active content issue is - I will have to
wade through the loads of info I have gotten on it now.
For beginners that just create simple nav buttons the amount of work to patch
this is going to be tough.

I use Dreamweaver and just add flash movies in-line. I usually just embed a
flash movie using dreamweaver insert - flash.
I am not sure I will be able to use this ever again - this issue has taken the
simplicity out of flash and dreamweaver.

I have an extension for flash that i found but it is cumbersome and does not
do what I need. I know have to edit html code which I was hoping to avoid. as
far as I am concerned their is no fix for the majority of macromedia users that
like to avoid coding as much as possible.

Anyway if anyone hears of a way I can go back to working like I did before
please let me know. for now I am going to try and figure out how to embed
movies using this java script fix.
