I need to DOWNLOAD the Flash Player so that I can install it on a VPC that has
no Web access. However, the only pages I can find are to directly install it.
How the heck do you just download the setup file for install off-line.

when you get to player download page
http://www.adobe.com/go/gntray_dl_getflashplayer
on the right hand side you find link "Redistribute Adobe Flash Player"
Redistributing for off line installation require license, fill it up
and you will get mail with link to installers for all OS and Browser versions.
It's an automated process, takes few minutes. Pretty much it.

Hi Urami...
ive done this... but the license links given to me are for the same players
...... the usual players for browsers, not the stand alone player for plying a
..swf on your dektop.

i need to be able to install a player on a machine with no internet access....
that will play a .swf file when clicked on....

regards,
gavin.

That is correct. Flash Player / Plugin is just like JavaScript. For browser
environment only. There is no publicly distributed standalone desktop players.
You will need to run your content in browser.
The only way to get the player is by download Flash application and digging it
out of the source files but it wasn't meant for distribution otherwise you
could download it, so I assume it could be in violation with Adobe's license
and user agreement. Best if contact Adobe client support and clarify :)

The players you get, as above said, are only for browser use.
You can provide the user with the player, html and swf file and run that in browser.
Otherwise you can export your SWF as projector EXE file. While exporting to exe
flash will wrap your SWF with player so the user does not require one to run the file.
