How to save shape tween to library? Quin1

flash (macromedia): I am new to flash. I understand a shape tween can not be saved as a symbol.
How do I save a shape tween to the library if it can not be a symbol? When I
drag the shape tween to the library it makes me convert to a symbol and breaks
the tween! My real goal is to save the shape tween as a movie clip and then
insert it into a button.

Select the range of frames that comprise your tween. Right click and copy
frames. Create a new movieclip symbol. Select the first frame of the new
timeline, right click and paste frames.

Now you should have a MC with your tween!

Good luck!

Thank You derobinson, your description of how to do this was very
helpful. I have detailed the steps I took and listed them below.

1. In Scene 1, Frame 1, I drew a circle.
2. I went to frame 30 and selected it and pressed F-6 to create frames
from 1 to 30
3. In frame 30 I changed the circle to a different shape
4. I then selected frame 1
5. In the Property Inspector I selected Shape Tween
6. All frames turned green with a line from one to 30 (This indicates a
sucessfull tween)
7. I can test the shape tween by pressing the enter key or Ctrl enter.
8. I selected frames 1 through 30, right clicked and then copy.
9. I created a new symbol by pressing Control F-8
10. I selected Movie Clip from the dialog box and gave my shape tween a
name.
11. Then clicked ok.
12. My shape tween is now in the library ready to use in my buttons
etc.
