How do I stream text to a flash application?......i wish to accomplish the
following task.....I want to input text in a box then have that text displayed
in a larger box on the same page but i don't want to refresh the page everytime
new text is added. I have the following software installed and i'm comfortable
using it.......mysql,apache,php,flash media server2,flash 8.

Yes, that is what I meant. It's just not clear to me what exactly you are
trying to do, you describe boxes and bigger boxes on the same page. If you are
trying to communicate between two SWFs on the same page, try LocalConnection.

well the local connection is good stuff to know but what i'm really trying to
accomplish is chat.......if you don't mind porn the perfect example of what i'm
attempting to accomplish is at www.cams.com......i'm not into porn but would
like to incoperate similar technology that they have into a computer support
website that i'm working on.

well the chat works now ....so consider this post closed ...thanks to everyone
here whom supported my effort. BTW I used ..mysql/holds text...apache/serves
page.........flash 8/looping list box and extracts xml from php
script.............php/processes mysql query into xml........... XML/ stores
and passes text into flash list box = text ouput.........next project = using a
input box to pass text into a mysql database.
