flash (macromedia):
Flash swfs showed up fine in both explorer and safari, until I installed Flash 8 Pro, which prompted me to upgrade to Flash Player 9. After that, no swf content would show in Safari, even local files. They still show in explorer though. I uninstalled all my old players using the uninstall program, and deleted all flash plugins from library/internet plugins. Then reinstalled Flash Player 9, and still no luck. any help?!??!?!
hey mt, I think there are some serious problems with Flash 9 plug-in. There are threads all over the site and other sites too about inconsistent problems with swf files not viewing at all. Or viewing but broken up. I'm having a problem that a few sites I built won't display at all from a computer with this combo- Windows XP, IE 6or 7, Flash 8 or 9. I don't get it and I've been pulling my hair out too. Like lots of others. Hang in there. Some one will come up with answers.
thanks for the moral support zech! It's wierd b/c i uninstalled everything and put player 8 back in, but whatever mess 9 left, is still lurking... Also, this is on my g4 powerbook/ tiger- but I also did the same Flash 8 Pro install to my G5 desktop/ tiger, and that didn't give me this Safari problem, even though both computers are practically identical in software/ apps. Total mystery.

Well i tried a couple of sites and none of them are showing flash at all!!! On our intranet setup as well the problem persists. None of the flash objects load in the browser. Tried on IE but no luck. Although if you just load a html page directly in browser without using the web server, the flash shows fine. If anyone knows what the issue is then please do post a reply. Thanks!:shocked;

no i can't see any content at all- even if I load it locally (not off the internet). The html is loading, just without the swf in it, and there aren't any errors or swf listed in the activity window. But the strange thing is that IE works fine still. I think what i'm gonna do is uninstall Flash 8 Pro, reinstall MX 2004, if it goes back to normal, then I'll upgrade to 8 again, except decline the Flash Player 9 upgrade this time.
