flash (macromedia):
Hi,

just an elementary question or 2 about using Flash for a "powerpoint" type
of presentation.

I've been asked by a client to create a slideshow, using hi-rez photos
accompanied by background music, possibly quotes superimposed over top.
For me, it's either buy & learn Powerpoint, or use/upgrade my current MX04
Flash, which I got in MM's 2004 suite, but never learned to use (Dreamweaver
is my thing normally). The end result would be projected from a Mac
notebook (possibly PC notebook) to a viewing screen for an audience of 100
or so people.

Is this something that Flash could handle, no problem? I have heard that
flash is a vector-based program, so not sure how full-color graphics thru a
projector system would render using Flash. Also, is there some kind of
stand-alone Flash player that could be used to load the presentation (for
either Mac / PC)?

thanks for any pointers here. esp helpful if you have personally done this
type of thing before....

as a followup, I might add, it would be desireable to burn the resulting
slide-show to a DVD, that would "auto-play" or execute rather easily on
either mac or PC.

thanks
