what kind of a file format are you saving them to in PS?

you can draw some pretty sophisticated graphics with the drawing tools right
in Flash, this is what they were talking about when they said 'vector them'
which is a mathematically drawn graphic, whereas a 'raster' graphic, or a pixel
based bitmap, is what is mostly output by PS as the final product.

If you draw a shape in Flash, then convert it to a MovieClip symbol, you are
then able to apply a variety of effects, from drop shadows to gradient glows,
as 'filters', including a 'blur' filter effect, and you can set the intensity
of the blur by pixels with a keystroke in the parameters panel. You could also
do the same to a image that has been imported from PS, select the image bitmap
on stage, convert it to a symbol, and you can now apply a filter, even a blur,
which may take care of your problem without having to redraw the image.

There you go :)
