flash (macromedia):
I am very new to Flash, so I am giving this a try :)

I built a Flash application to display photos. The photo URL is embedded
securely (people cannot just copy/paste the URL). The image is then displayed
within the application, with a Flash watermark temporarily painted over the
screen. The original images are very large, but the application only shows
little chunks at a time. You can drag the image around to view all the
different parts, but you can?t view it all on the screen at once.

Everything works great, but I?m wondering if there is any way for people to
fish the original image out of their cache ? if that makes any sense. My
concern is that when the page loads, the image obviously has to be downloaded
in some form to the person?s computer. Is that protected/encrypted/etc? Or if
you know what you?re doing, can you somehow gain access to the image?

Thanks!

If I understand correctly, it would not be hard for someone to monitor their
connection and see all the calls being made, including the ones made to
wherever the original images are.

How secure does it have to be? You could do a lot to make it more secure, but
in the end if the user is allowed to see it, even if it's fragmented and
watermarked, there's not much you can do to prevent the user from taking
screenshots and such.
