flash (macromedia): I have encountered a weird problem. I am using animated .swf as headers on
this website ( http://thebiblechurchofchrist.org/about_us.html ). About 10% of
the time, the .swf file fails to display all of the layers of the .fla file.

It will always display the animated "slideshow" of images moving from right to
left, as well as the text "The Bible Church of Christ." However, the layers
containing the floating-cross-in-the-sky thingy and the beige bar sometimes
drop out.

I'm exporting the .swfs as Flash 8 (and have set up the html to require Flash
8), so that the gradient masking on the floating-cross-in-the-sky thing works.
Flash file is loading from bottom up. I'm having the preloader stop when the
cross graphic (one of top-most layers, aside from as layer) is loaded.

Has anyone had similar problems (or otherwise know what is going on here??)

I am new to Flash but know what you are talking about (I hope).

It sounds like you need to be reminded about the "publish" settings. Go to
your "Properties" window, select Publish: "Settings" button to open the
settings window.....

You will want to toggle the "Export Hidden Layers" checkmark on or off
depending on your needs.

Does that fix it for you? If not, I didn't mean to be a know it all. It's
probably one of the few things I do know about this app.

Thanks for the suggestion. Just double-checked and the "Export Hidden Layers"
box is checked.

The weird thing is that the swf works fine sometimes?but not all the time, so
the layers are being exported but?just not being played back consistently in
browsers.
