flash (macromedia) : Animating in Flash

Is the bitmap scaled at all? this splash page took about 10 seconds to load on my fiber optic high
speed internet connection - seems like it may be a large bitmap that you scaled in flash? the
"slicing" is truly annoying though :(

I made a simple animation of a bitmap logo, but it gets sliced up when it moves.
I love Flash, but this can really get under my skin.
It's a symbol with straight forward tweening. Nothing fancy here.

Frustrated beyond belief!!

Anyone??

It loaded instantly on my hillbilly connection rope, I think you had an optics
burp. :-)

Bitmap animation is pretty bad in Flash. However, you can get a lot better
results for animation usually with the following:
1) Open your library
2) Find your bitmap
3) Right click, choose Properties
4) Make sure "allow smoothing" is turned on. By default this is always off for
imported bitmaps. It usually makes a huge difference when
scaling/rotating/moving bitmaps.

Also, I've long heard that setting the _root._quality = "BEST" helps, but I
honestly can never tell if it helps.

The bitmap is small png with transparency and not large at all. It is converted
into a symbol in Flash and tweened with a slightly different angle in multiple
keyframes. Pretty straight forward stuff here. I've been using Flash for some
time now and know beyond the basics, but never encountered anything as annoying
as this.
