flash (macromedia):
I think that when people sign up for the forums, there should be a check list
before they can post.

1. Do a search, and use many different keywords. "Vegatable tool" got me no
results, but "vegetable" did. Thats a classic...
2. Do the tutorials (one person wanted to know how to make a swf out of an fla)
3. Give a detailed explanation of you problem
4. Put the problem in your subject line. "Flash problem!" doesnt work for me...
5.____
6.____

Basically, these forums are a place where people go out of there way to help
strangers, so no one has the right to complain. "Waste precious time posting?"
I'll make sure not to waste precious time responding.

It would also help if posters would follow the
http://www.adobe.com/support/forums/guidelines.html. There are so many posts
that don't give enough explanation or detail, that is makes it a chore to help.
The fact that people that help out here are not getting paid to do so also
weighs in. This is a community board, people take time out of their lives to
jump on and help others out. Most of us regulars try and catch every topic,
but god forbid one or two slip threw, and its, "These boards are horrible, blah
blah". Who are you to comment on the traffic of these boards anyway, you've
been here 1 day. If you don't like it, don't come back. There are thousands
upon thousands of others who appreciate the help.

I agree - another reason there are 0 responses is because this forum is VERY popular - hard for
anyone to keep up with the amount of new posts on any given day.
Also - many of the ones that go unanswered are because it's a topic that has been covered hundreds
and sometimes thousands of times for years - and many simply get tired of responding and assume the
original poster will use the search function (not!).

These Adobe boards are not very useful with so little traffic (how many posts
with 0 responses?). And having such noticeably little traffic keeps the traffic
low -- why waste precious time posting as I have done with such little chance
of assistance?

Solution: get Adobe support people in masquerading as users to actually get
questions answered, so the boards will grow in popularity, and eventually be
self-supporting.

With 6 posts to your name, you haven't been around long enough to judge. The
Flash discussion board is quite lively. The posts with 0 responses are either
not clearly worded enough to elicit help or are on topics that no one is able
to help with. If you look around, most posts on real Flash issues get serious
and detailed responses within hours.

Make a contribution instead of complaining within 1 day of signing up.
