flash (macromedia):
Hi,
I am trying to decide between Flash and Windows Media to stream video
content form a web server. I would like to go with Flash but do not want to do
so at the expense of reduced video quality. My questions are:

1> Will Flash have an ability to show videos on Full Screen mode? If so, when
should we expect that to happen?
2> Does Flash support variable bit rate encoding? If not, when do you think
it would? How does Flash encoding compare with Windows Media encoding?
3> Besides the player being available on most browsers, does Flash have any
other advantage over Windows Media Player? :confused;

1) Use Flash CS3 (and Flash Player 9) with ActionScript 3, can show videos in
full screen mode, e.g. like what you can see on youtube.

2) Yes Flash video supports VBR encoding, refer to:
http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/articles/selecting_video_encoder.html

3) My opinion:
- More control to your video, do something before or after the video play, e.g
shows ads before video play, like to another page after video complete etc.
- Customize your own player skin

Thanks GGSHOW.
I would like to correct my question for 2>. I meant to ask if Flash
supports "multiple" bit rate encoding? If not, when do you think it would?
By multiple bit rate encoding, I mean the ability to dynamically adapt the
video rate based on the internet link.

Thanks,
Milind

NO, Flash doesn't support MBR. If you want your video to have different bit
rate for users with different connection speed, you can encode multiple flv
with different bit rate for the same video, & write script to decide which flv
to play.

I found 1 article which you might interested

Hopefully these help :smile;
