flash (macromedia) : Slow animated gif export

How do i stop my animated gifs from coming out slower than i created them? I
think it's coming out as 12fps no matter what frame rate i set it to. The only
way i can see to do it (the very, very hard way) is to have half as many
frames, which is a big process to go and take half of the frames out from each
section.

So what's the trick?

The trick is to work in 12 fps. That is Gif speed and you can't bust
it's playback.

oh bummer, i was hoping you wouldn't say that. So if I've created an animation
for 24fps, not specifically for a GIF, and i want to use part or all of it for
a GIF, i have to go and halve the amount of frames in every section.

Thanks, good to know, but not happy with the answer.
