Hit area menu problem Nova Franklin

flash (macromedia):
I am a Flash newbie and have a very similar issue to sond007.

I have created horizontal a drop-down menu which is activated on Œmouse
over¹ and deactivated on Œmouse out¹. To see what I mean the .swf and .fla
files can be found at
http://www.rockcorp.com.au/new_site/flash/flash_files.html.

Currently when the user¹s mouse leaves my primary menu button (Products) the
secondary menu retracts. I need to work out how to keep the sub-menu
extended long enough for a user to make a selection, if they¹d like to.

Any pointers would be much appreciated.

Many thanks

Sorry, just worked out how to fix the problem by adding a graphic that
covers both my primary and secondary buttons to my text only button that
acts as a hit area.

If anyone is interested the .swf and .fla files can be found at
http://www.rockcorp.com.au/new_site/flash/flash_files.html.

All the best,
n

Re: Hit area menu problem - solved NOT! Nova Franklin

Hello,

Problem as originally described below NOT resolved. Can anyone tell me how
stop the secondary nav bar disappearing once the user¹s mouse rolls off my
primary button?? Extending the area of the primary button (as detailed
below) didn¹t work, because it stopped the rollovers on my secondary nav bar
from working doh!

Further, I have two good tutorials for vertical drop down menus
(http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx/dropdownmenu.htm and
http://www.actionscript.org/resources/articles/23/1/Drop-down-menu/Page1.htm
l) but would love one for horizontal menus if anyone knows one. I have
searched for hours unsuccessfully.

Many thanks
n
