"Rotating" can mean a handful of things, but if you spin "turn clockwise
or counterclockwise," do this:

1) Convert your image to a symbol (Modify > Convert to Symbol). Choose
graphic.

2) Insert a keyframe several frames down the timeline. If you're on frame
1, click inside frame 30 (for example) of that layer and Insert > Timeline >
Keyframe.

3) Right-click / Command-click in the frames between your two keyframes
(between frame 1 and frame 30). Select Create Motion Tween.

4) Click somewhere inside the newly tweened span of frames. Look in the
Property inspector and choose CW (clockwise) or CCW (counterclockwise) in
teh "Rotate" dropdown.

Thank you. I have a lot to learn on this. I was wanting to have images rotate
into each other with a fading effect. Just wondering if by chance you could
recommend a book on learning flash from top to bottom. The owner manual is not
so easy for me to follow. Thanks again for your response.

Aha! You said "simple rotating image in flash," but I completely
understand. ;) Once the ideas start flowing, creativity keeps suggesting
new things.

Have you checked out the Flash Tutorials or Getting Started with Flash
sections? They actually go into quite a bit of detail, in a straightforward
manner. But sure, there's nothing like a book you can hold in your hands
and read on the sofa, even when you aren't in front of the computer. I'm a
fan of friends of ED (http://www.friendsofed.com/). You may want to check
out Foundation Flash 8; it gets high marks on Amazon, and I've purchased
other books by one of the co-authors, Sham Bhangal.

Thanks again. I will check out that website. Also I found the documentation on
the Adobes site so I am going to sit here and learn this program once and for
all. I have had it on my machine with the studio and really have never gave it
a fair shake. I see that you can do a lot more in it than the old flash 4 which
is what I had used before. Thanks for taking the time to reply to my posts.
