Hello,

I'm working on some Flash presentations (actually training material) for a
company and I've been asked to find out if I can take these Flash presentations
I'm creating and save them in a format that can be placed on a DVD to be played
on a standard DVD player and television without using a computer to run the
presentation.

I haven't heard of this being done, however, I'm still relatively new at
many of the advanced abilities of Flash so does anyone know how this can be
accomplished? Thanks.

No actionscript (I'm not that advanced yet). And everything is on the main
timeline. I've seen that there have been a lot of posts on the subject and a
lot of great responses. I guess I'm just still so new and unsure about what
I'm doing that sometimes even a good explanation still makes me feel lost.

If it is timelined based without actionscript you could export it out as a
quicktime video or image sequnce or even a swf and use a video editor to to
convert it to a video format which you could then convert into a dvd.

I started with Flash 4 exporting flash animation to video via Quicktime - it was the very reason why
we initially chose flash way back then - so you do not need the latest version of flash to export to
video - what is important is knowing how to setup your flash document so that all your assets will
export to video format - read that article i gave you.

When I started this project, I was stuck in the dark ages. I was using Flash
version 5 and exporting the presentation directly into a movie format was
unheard of. I just upgraded to version 8 and I'm giving File > Export > Movie
a try.

If this works it will be the simplest answer to a challenge I've run up
against yet. I was looking forward to 20 laborious steps of going through this
program and that program to try and convert it. But if the .avi or .mov that
comes from this export will then burn onto a DVD and play on a normal DVD
player and television then I'm one happy camper. Thanks.
