not really - you can export the MOV to an FLV and run that through the flash player at runtime. You
can also import the MOV into flash doc. depends.

Flash is not a video editor - i would get yourself quicktime Pro ($30 US) and open your MOV and
export as an Image Sequence - then from flash import the first image into it - flash will detect the
numerically named files and prompt you to import them all - they will end up as individual images in
keyframes on the timeline.

But sounds to me like you are trying to use flash to edit video - not recommended as flash was never
intended to be used this way.

2m - you may be right - in my experience though, it depends on what level of "editing" is needed.

Newbie to flash using Flash Pro 8.0 for Mac running system 10.4.8

Is it possible to convert a quicktime movie .mov to a swf file in Flash?

Is it possible to import a .mov so that you see the entire .mov- frame by
frame and edit it in Flash?

TIA

Hi,

I always feel a bit insecure when contradicting deities like Chris, but I
sometimes just can't resist. :-)

You should be able to import the mov into Flash, and choosing the option to
embed it in the swf as movieclip will give you a lot of options to control it
like any other thing in the time-line. I do agree, that editing your movie that
way might be not a good idea, even if in some rare cases it might work well.

Greetings

Well I needed this question answered also, not because I planned on editing my
movie, but because I wanted to rotoscope over an already edited movie of mine.
The rotoscoping program at our school is AWFUL (Alam DV2, the precursor to
Effects Lab), but beyond that, only a REALLY high-end, expensive rotoscoping
program would give me a brush tool to work with. Flash can do that already, and
it's relatively easy to manage my layers and drawings. I just wasn't sure how
to import the .mov into a layer and run it's length in keyframes.

Thanks a lot 2m. I'll be able to make my project really well now. Because
Flash's brushes don't blend/feather like Paint Shop Pros or Photoshops, I can
only color with one shade. A bit unfortunate, but with what I'm doing, solid
colors might look fine. Just have to have them complement each other.
