flash (macromedia) : Flickr Slideshow - How's it done.....?

Hello to you all, hope your Friday is treating you well.

So I was talking to a client, and they wanted a slideshow/gallery for their
site that uses thumbnails that a user can click on to see a larger image. But
the rub is they want to update themselves. And they have no knowledge of Flash
at all. And don't seem in a position to learn the necessary.

So I ask them, "So you mean like the Flickr one that you can get?"
They replied "Well yeah."

So as a stop gap we're going to use that. BUT here is is my question. How can
you make a slideshow that has thumbnails for each image that relate to a larger
image that a non-Flash user can update just purely by uploading an image to
their site. This image will then be resized to fit the confines of the gallery.

How easy is this to do? I can make the gallery no probs, its the updating side
of it I need assistance on. Can anyone give me any pointers. Is this done with
Actionscript? or a combination of scripts.....?

Thank you for your time.
