ouch - so you don't even own Flash? Sorry, I think you may have to find yourself another job soon -
why would you say you can do this if you don't even know Flash? let alone own it. Are you offering
to pay someone to help you?

I've been fired for a lot less :(

have you googled around yet? searched this forum? Slideshows are very popular. Check out
www.kirupa.com - search their site for flash slideshow - they offer great tutorials and source files.
www.gotoandlearn.com is another great site.

What you are asking us to do is spend several hours to spend helping you do the work you told your
client you could do - it isn't our problem. Not to flame - it's like buying a hammer and saw and
telling general contractor you can build a house - then turn around and beg real carpenters and
builders to make it for you.

you should be able to find a slideshow on kirupa's website.

I am breaking my head over a huge project my manager assigned to me because i
am some sort of computer guru. Well with that said, the company I work for
would like it if I could add flash to their website. I come to you guys
because I have a big mouth and said I can do it! In reality I have 0 knowledge
of how to use flash and need as much as help as possible. I currently own
Flash 8 and do not know how to use it. Let me tell you what I need to do.

If you could please visit www.usedcars4less.com you will understand what I am
talking about. If you see in the middle of the page I have a slide show made
from GIF to show our current cars that I made with a program called easygif
creator. If a lady pops up from the bottom of the screen just close her and
refresh your browser so that you can view the picture. Well now they want
exactly what they see to be in flash format with all the nice transition
features and even music playing in the back! OMG I am going insane! I
purchased this program called ProShow Gold. It can make the flash file and all
this nice stuff, but the problem is that it is not a real flash file, it is a
movie file that requires 3 files to always be attached to it! Plus when I made
the finished product it makes a huge 18 megabyte file! Well I was fiddling
around with Flash 8 and imported the SWF file and tried to make a Flash
slideshow into it. And it is 15 MEGABYTES! OMG please help because I am running
out of time and I cant even buy that now. So if you have a solution for me and
a program that can do that for me I would praise you guys as my god for all
eternity! All I need to do is present a slide show of cars that is 515 x 250
resolution and have transistion titles of the car come out in front of the
picture to show what the car is and so forth for each picture and fade out to
the next. I don?t need any menus or templates around it , I just need the
pictures and text to loop forever. Then I need to add music to it, now I hear
that I should just have the song uploaded to a server and have it stream so
that I wont use up space, but if that is more complicated than needed then
forget it! i hope someone understands me! ohh god!

the ford website we own is exactly what i need to do and the company that
manages our website will not give me the file, obviosly because they created
it. plus they want to charge $500 for each time that we want a flash made for
us! this is why my company turned to me.

Seems like i'm getting bashed instead of helped....ok i already have flash, the
company provided that. i know that making a slideshow with flash must be a
piece of cake but i dont know how to get the batter started. got me? am i
willing to pay? no, because if the company i work for already has an issue
about paying an outsource company, why would i dish out any money? seriously
can anyone HELP?

true. It is something I personaly would not have the guts to do - say i could get it done when I
know I couldn't - that's simply asking for problems.

I would never claim to be 'some sort of computer guru'. But I am sure I could
make what EVERYTHINGMAN is asking for. On second thought, maybe I am some
sort of computer guru: a knowledgeable one.
