Some useful hotkeys? mussashimits

Hi,
I am having trouble finding this information. My biggest problem right now is
that working in the timeline can be very slow- mainly because, most likely, I
don't know some of the hotkeys. I am hoping someone can tell me how to do the
following:
-create a new frame for multiple layers at a certain frame in the timeline
(right now I have so many layers, and
I keep having to select each one individually and then select the frame, right
click-> insert frame.)
-select the frames of all layers at a certain frame in the timeline. (dragging
the mouse doesn't seems to select EVERY frame of each layer rather than the one
I'm currently on at the timeline)
-copy selected frames of all layers at one frame of the timeline and paste
those individual frames for each layer at another frame in the timeline. (I
hope I'm not confusing anyone.
Let me give an example: Layer 1 and Layer 2 has a ball that is 5 units big at
keyframe frame one. At frame 2, it's 10 units big. I'd like to be able to
copy and paste the frames of both Layer 1 and Layer 2 at their keyframe 1, and
then paste them onto kayframe 15. As a result, I want to see, at keyframe 15
of the timeline, Layer 1 and Layer 2 having the same frames as they do at
Keyframe 1. Thi can be done manually, but with a lot of layers, it would be
great to have a shortcut.

I appreciate any help

Insert a keyframe - click in the frame you wish to add the blank key frame and
click F6 (for multiple layers click at top and drag down at the frame you want
to add then hit F6)

Insert a blank keyframe - click in the frame you wish to add the blank key
frame and click F7 (for multiple layers..see above, however it F7)

Add Frames - click in the frame that you wish to be the last frame you intend
to add and then click F5

Remove Frames - Select a range of frames and then click shift + F5

dragging the mouse does work to select multiple frames over multiple layers,
you cant click, pause, click then drag...you must click and drag all at once.

to copy paste - click drag, control+v/apple+v....to paste, you must right
click and select 'Paste Frames'

Something helpful to is if you have a wacom tablet, the newest drivers (and
maybe old ones as well ) let you assign a pen button to a pop-up menu, which
can have tons of hotkeys/keystrokes programmed in it (such as new keyframe,
cut, paste, undo, etc) not much help without a wacom, but i just thought I'd
share my 10 cents worth. =)

Even better, if you got into your menus in just about any Windows or Mac
(Ubuntu, too, I believe) application, the little codes beside the different
menu commands are the keyboard shortcuts for those commands.

Insert > Timeline > Frame F5

Something Im still not understanding, though, is how to select a keyframe
across multiple layer, and paste those keyframes on another frame in the
timeline.

"Right-click over selected frames and select "Copy Frames" - select new Frame
and right-click again to select "Paste Frames' "
Well is there a way to copy multiple frames? When I paste the frames, it
messes up things pretty bad, duplicating the layers that the selection is on.

Yes there is a way and i am not sure how else i can describe it as i did already. One more time I
guess...

1. Drag across the frames and layers highlighting them in black.
2. Ctrl+Alt+C (Copy Frames)
3. Paste them by selecting a frame in your timeline where you want to paste them and use Ctrl+Alt+V
(Paste Frames).

You mention they get "messed up" but I have no idea what that means - too general a description. If
you are trying to paste the copied frames after the frames in the layers, make sure you select the

(When you paste in a new layer, Flash will try to keep the previous layer
names.)

As far as your "messsed up" issue, I'd just try various techniques.

Beware that when a frame is pasted, there is frequently another frame added to
the end, like it pushed forward the frame that was already there.

"If
you are trying to paste the copied frames after the frames in the layers, make
sure you select the
same number of layers before pasting or else flash will create new layers for
you."
I believe that' was my problem- I was selecting only one frame when I
proceeded to paste. Thanks for clearing that up.
