Hello all,

I'm getting strange results when I'm trying to move a large image (8000x4800
pixels).
Actually the image is moving, but when I'm tracing for example the x position
the output returns large value..i.e 4500. At the same time my movie size is
1000 pix width and I'm seeing the image.
Have you ever had such a problem ? Do you know if the Flash environment has
restrictions for not working with such large images ? 10x in advance,

Hi,

Thanks for the answer.
I don't think that the document width of 1000 px is a problem.
The image object that I use might be the problem, because is pretty big.
I'm still trying to find out, if it is possible to work with 8000x4800 pixels
image in Flash without getting strange position and scale results...10x
again....

Hi,
It is strange, but the strangest is the dimentions you use, what on earth
makes you create a movie with width 1000x!!
I never tried this before for sure, but I guess you need to use more proper
sizes in your movie and see what happend.

I'm surprised you are getting any results. Flash has two limits that you should
be running into. There is a limit of 2880 pixels wide and high on bitmaps.

The other limit I've only seen occasionally, but there seems to be a limit of
16000 pixels. I've usually seen it with the drawing API, but if somebody was
trying to draw from -8000 to 8000 they would start getting strange results. Or
if they had clips moving off the stage they could loose them when they got
about 16000 pixels from other clips that went off the stage the other way.

Whatever you are trying to do, there is probably a better (but not easier) way
to accomplish it.

And yes, 1000 pixels wide is a completely acceptable dimension to publish a
swf. I often publish 1024x768 swfs for various things I do.

Hi,
I am sorry, I usually work on low FLA dimentions, that is why I shocked when I
see 1000 px, but it is normal no problem with it. Actually, I think 2880 px
is the limit of your FLA file dimention, you can not create larger files and
16000 is the maxmum number of frames for the timeline lenght, otherwise there
may face problem witht he extra frames.
