flash (macromedia):
i think i can answer question 2

if you need to create a background that wont move create it all on one layer,
entitled background, that way you can add to the background layer and leave the
actual animation part alone. If you add all the background items onto one layer
you dont need to group the items.

hope this helps

Okay i'm just starting out and have three questions i can't seem to wrap my
mind around. I would appreciate the feed back to these 3

1.I know i can jump to another spc scene or framw with the gotoandStop/play,
but can i do the same with the play() or the telTarget() actions?
2. To create a background and a still image for and animation i need symbol
and instance, but do i need a gruop.
3. also the dot (.) notation. can i use it with button symbols and graphic
symbols and movie clip symbols/

Okay, thanks alot

Hi,
1- play() allows you to play the current frame or movieclip not jumping to
another place, and tellTarget() used to do the same work as gotoandPlay in old
version of AS, in Flash 4 I think.

2- Can you please clearify what you mean or need to do?

3- yes you can, try it
