You don't save it as an animation. You publish it as a flash .swf movie. Go
to the Control Menu & select Test Movie & the finished movie will appear in
the same folder as your .fla

Do you mean to make a SWF file for deployment on a web server?

File > Export > Export Movie

Of you can use File > Publish and have the HTML generated for you as well.
