CS3 is the next one after Flash 8 ? in other words CS3=9! (That isn't nine
factoral, just NINE.)

Not sure if Flash 8 training will help you or not. What do you plan to do with
Flash?

I'm not much of an animator, but I don't think there were major changes in
most of the timeline and drawing tools so if that is what you plan to do I
think it would be about the same.

However if you plan to learn Actionscript there is a BIG change in how it is
handled. You can still use CS3 to publish the old style of AS2 that is the same
as in Flash 8. So if you plan to learn that kind of Actionscript you will be
fine. But if you want to learn the new ways, well then you will need to get
some CS3/AS3 specific instructions.
