flash (macromedia): Hi, I'm new to Flash 8, and I'm trying to make text fade in and out. I have
done it 2 ways and when I scrub through the timeline, I can see the effect
nicely, however, when I run 'Control/Test Movie', the effect is no longer there.
I've tried making the text a graphic object and altering the alpha values,
and I've also applied a transition effect to the plain text object. Again, with
both methods, you can see the effect in the timeline window as you scrub
through, but when I run test movie, or export as a .swf, the effect is not
there.
Can anyone offer any insight on how to resolve this? Thanks very much in
advance.

You probably just need to include the character outlines--either switch
to static text, or "embed" (see properties panel) the appropriate character

There are several ways to do this.
Do you use movieclips or graphics?
Have you create this correctly (look in your library)
