flash (macromedia) : importing google earth into flash

new to this forum, and pretty new to flash. I'm doing a simple infographic
about a plane crash. I would like to show the route, and the location. I was
wondering if there is someway I can use google earth to zoom into the location,
and import that into flash. I know I can save a jpg in GE and import it into
flash, but I'd like to have the zoom animation as well. any ideas? thanks in
advance.

You would need to screen capture google earth zooming in - but I have to tell you I have tried this
on my fastest computer and the result is, the best screen capture program will drop frames because
it simply can't keep up with the frame rate google earth uses. The captured video had to be brought
into After Effects and smoothed out in between frames using some interpolation filter (frame
smoothing i think?). I can't remember the details as the project was over a year ago and someone
else did the AE work - but ultimately the video was exported as an FLV and then brought into flash
during runtime using the media display component.

but would be very processor intensive and probably wont come anywhere near getting the same exact
effect - good enough trick though if you wanna "cheat" the effect of google earth but will create a
pretty big file size depending on the size of the images.
