flash (macromedia) : Help in flash (MX 2004) - how to zoom in 'camera'

exactly - the illusion is just that - scaling the objects larger will provide the illusion you are
zooming - remember the opening sequence of the very 1st star wars movie (1977)? Those space ships
just after the opening text were stationary - they simply moved the camera alongside them - when
viewing the film the shaps (in our own minds) appear to move. Same concept with flash - scale
object(s) on stage - most animators nest entire scenes in Graphic movie clips and then scale them to
produce camera zooms.

Hi, first message here, just need some help in Flash MX 2004

I've noticed in some flash movies that the animator has actually "zoomed in"
on the symbols instead of just making the symbols bigger. I wanted to know if
anyone knows how to do this.
I am not an expert animator, so would appreciate any help if possible.

'fraid not, i've imported it into flash and it actually is zooming in, like the
canvas size is shrinkin down. Also, there's a sort of black border around it,
sort of indicating where it zooms in to. I'm not really making much sense here,
but there is a way you can see it. www.madnesscombat.com - I have saved episode
7 onto my computer, and when I open it with Flash Player 6, it doesn't really
play properly, but in a way that lets me see the 'zoom-ins' from the point of
view of them not taking effect. (big hard to understand, i know)

sounds like you may have a player problem. there was a big change for flash at
6.65. you maybe be using script made for 6.65 or greater or the opposite. but
you just zoom the whole clip, but remember you'll need the quality to look it's
best at the closest position.

i've been using flash since 4 and i'm pretty sure there's no real "zoom"
effect other than what we have told you. :)

Where the heck is the movie at the link you posted? All I see are comments and
a link to a GIF, nothing that zooms in as you say.

Sounds to me like the animator is using Sham Bhangal's vCam component which,
by the way, won't work in Flash 6 (well, there's an alternative version that
will, but most likely the animator is using the Flash 7+ version):
