Hi everyone,

I have a triangular shaped object colour black, and I'm trying to figure out
how to create a moving highlight effect. I know how to create the moving part
with a mask, but I don't know how to create the graphic effect, ie. the
highlight that'll move through the triangle.

I've tried filling a narrow and angled rectangle with a black/white gradient
but it doesn't look realistic. Just wondered if anyone's pulled off this kind
of effect before and wondered if you could give me a few pointers. Or maybe
there's a tutorial somewhere on the web someone knows of?

Appreciate any help offered.

Hi Seraya,
Here's one way, try creating a white filled object (shaped however you like)
and convert it to a MC, then in the properties panel change the MCs 'color:'
property to 'alpha' and adjust the % to your liking. Use a 'blur' filter to
get a gradient look at the edges if you want.

Here's a similar effect I created for a website I've been working on, but it's
using a masking effect, but the principle is basically the same:

Hope this helps :)
