Has anyone except me had a problem getting Dreamweaver/Flash CS3 to accept the
serial numbers from Macromedia Studio 8 and activate trhe upgrade? I know that
Studio 8 is a qualifying product as I initially had the problem with
Dreamweaver CS3 and had to ring Adobe to get a Studio 8 serial number that
would work. I now have exactly the same problem with Flash Pro CS3 and lo and
behold I won't be able to ring Adobe until Monday when I am at work and then
will have to wait until the evening to see if it works....Also, I purchased
Studio 8 just after Adobe took it over

Fortunately I haven't had those sorts of problems, just with the two products
that I upgraded that were ex Macromedia. When I rang them they actually said
that there are so many serial numbers out there that it is a bit hit and miss.
The one helpful person that I spoke to admitted that even she failed at times
to understand the logic behind the upgrade permissioning process.....and if
Customer Support have difficulty understanding it what chance is there for the
rest of us. I was until now under the impression that it was only Micro$oft
that did stupid things with software.

Starting with CS2 I have found that it is impossible to activate any Adobe
upgrade. I have to phone in to get the activation key. I'm starting to wonder
if this is deliberate, a clumsy way to discourage counterfeits.

I called their customer no support number and got a phone monkey who could not
understand what I was saying, but was happy to return my product.
He said since I bought Flash MX 2004 as part of Studio MX 2004, that it was
NOT eligible for only upgrading Flash to the Pro version. I think that is
total BS since when I launch Flash MX 2004, it says nothing about studio. I
will try again tomorrow and hopefully get someone who can give me the truth.
He said I was eligible for upgrading the whole suite, which I don't want or
need.
30 minutes of my life I will never get back.
Let me know if I am off base here?
