flash (macromedia):
HI YOU'VE WON!... STFU! Been there? I'm sure you have.

I can't even browse the web anymore without being constantly annoyed by stupid
flash and it's stupid audio.

I want it perma-muted. I like to listen to my music, not some voice telling me
I've won an XBOX or some stupid music on everyone's myspace page.

How?! Is my question.

Or it's getting uninstalled.

here we go again - it's not flash but the developers who are using flash in this way - if you see an
image online you don't want to see do you complain to the makers of the JPG format? Same thing here.
You can block flash content if you want to or simply turn down your speakers like the other poster
said. Ads are a part of the internet - they will always be there as much as many of them annoy us.
It's a fact of life I am afraid.

FireXtol;
It is quite simple to add sound control to a flash movie and most
responsible developers do so (myspace is another story...). Macromedia and
now Adobe have not elected to build-in such control to the player itself, so
you are "at the mercy" of individual movie developers. There is a
flashblock extension for firefox which blocks all flash content unless
clicked, and there may well be other browser add-ons for sound control-a web
search should turn up links if they exist. --Tom Unger

Do this only if you're running Windows Vista, otherwise, I don't know what to
tell you:

1. Open up your browser and wait for a talking/noisy Flash advertisement to
appear.
2. Click the speaker icon on your taskbar and click "MIxer".
3. Click the mute button under your browser name/icon.

Perform the same operation to unmute sound for your browser.
This can be done for any program that outputs sound. Notice, the program won't
show
up on the list if the program hasn't made any noise yet.
