flash (macromedia): I am just learning flash, started yesterday, and I am wondering if a host
server tells you it can stream flash video, do you need to put the "<object
classid="clsid:....."
codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#
version=9,0,0,0" in your code or what?

To play FLV you will need correct Mime Type. If you have admin access to your server
you might be able to do it yourself. If not than the admin can do it for you. It takes
less than two minutes to set it up.
Just add new MIME "flv-application/octet-stream" for file extension *.flv

About the codebase. Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 3.0 and later use the CODEBASE
attribute to detect which version of the Adobe Flash Player ActiveX Control is installed
on a user's computer. If the user's version is earlier than the version specified by CODEBASE,
Internet Explorer can automatically download and install the newer version of the Flash Player
from the location specified in CODEBASE.

You could of course run Flash movie just with embed tags but it's recommended to have the
complete set just for cross browser compatibility.
