Hello.

I would like to know if there is a way to place a movie clip (avi mov etc)
and have the character in the movie appear in front of a different
background in a Flash movie.

Is this possible?

Thanks in advance.
Peter

I've done this with "short" quicktime mov movie clips.

Import to stage and embed the movie in the swf and have it play on
the timeline.
Then use a mask to cut (cover up) the part of the movie that you don't
want and place the layer containing the movie clip in front of the
background
that you want.

It isn't point and click and it certainly requires some work but it is
possible.

I would probably use a movie editing program to do the real heavy lifting
part
instead of Flash, but you did ask if it's possible. And it is.
