flash actionscript:
:sun; Admittedly, I'm an ActionScripting Newbie of the worst and most hopeless
sort! I need to put into a Flash site a small Listbox where only one item
will be selectable at a time. The various list items will each drive the movie
playhead to a different frame in the same timeline. A movie specific to the
subject chosen from the listbox will then play. I am in a tangle over how to
get my simple actionscript written to actually make this happen. Perhaps a
clearer description of the intended functionality: Listbox items 0 through n,
where: Selection of item 0 moves the playhead to frame 6 where movieclip 0
plays ' ' 1 ' '
' 10 where movieclip 10 plays ' ' 2
' ' ' 16 where movieclip 16 plays, etc.
Can anyone show me how the ActionScript should look? I'm just too much of
an ActionScripting newbie to do this right, apparently... by the way, what's
the best way to learn ActionScripting if you are not a Programmer ? I'm
finding most of the documentation very programming-oriented for a beginner.
Thanks! Ginger

Before entering this note in the Forum, I'd read the Flash Help file about
suing the combo box change event several times. It really isn't explanatory for
a non-programmer --- I had no idea what the commands were doing and so can't
modify them for my own needs yet. I suppose I need more Actionscript study.
I was just hoping someone could show me what the actionscript would look like
to do what I am trying to do, and perhaps explain what each command is doing.
Thanks.
