Flash CD-Rom video jaskona

flash actionscript: I have a CD-rom with video that I am creating in flash MX 2004 Pro. I exported a .flv from a .mov in my library, and it is around 270mb. I linked to that from the .swf, but when burned to CD it runs pretty choppy, and the audio gets way ahead of the video.

The original .mov file is around 66 mb, so I don't know why the .flv is so large. I am currently trying to use Final cut to export a smaller flv, but it still runs choppy.

Should I not even try and do this in flash? Should I be using Director for the video? I would really like everything to be in flash...

Has anyone defeated this issue?

thanks,

David

Flash does not performs well handling big movies (yet). Also, there is the consideration that the FPS in your movie will define the FPS of your movie, so, lets say, you have a flash animation set in 12 FPS and your movie is 30 FPS, the compensation will create the sound offset and the choppy streaming.

One solution a used was to fragment the movie in little movies and match the fps between FLV and my movie. I despise everything that has to do with Macs, therefore never use the quicktime format, so I couldn't comment if the codec is the responsible for the low performance.

Use JMovie to run the oringal movie from Flash Projector.

Please take a look at

http://jmovie.flashjester.com

It use's Windows Media Players engine to play the movie files.
