flash actionscript: Hello, Im new here and have had a wee look through this section but cant find any help for this problem

I have a dynamic text field with a scroll bar attached.
When i load the variable into the text field the scroll bar doesnt work.
The text appears in the box (as much as will fit into it) but the rest just dissappears as the scroll bar wont work... The up and down arrows of the scroll bar can be seen but you cannot scroll with it. Its as if the rest of the text wasnt imported or something as you can only view the first few paragraphs.

Sorry im not good at explaining things but hopefully someone can help me.

what type of scroll bar are you using? you may need to tell the scroll bar to begin scrolling AFTER you load the dynamic text into it. Let me know what kind of scroll bar you are using.

Just using the one from the components library in flash mx
attached it to the side of the dynamic text field and attached the correct action scripts to import the text.
The text imports but the scrollbar just wont let ou croll through the rest of it.

Also i have tried loading the variables in one frame and then attaching the scrollbar in the next frame.
I thought this might have worked but i had no joy

The answer to this problem is probably so simple :-(
