flash actionscript : Action Commands MX vs MX2004

I am a student using Flash MX in class however Macromaedia gave me MX2004. Most items seem to be improvements, however the Actions Pane is missing the primary command we are working with, Actions > Movie Command. I found similar items but nothing that works. Does anybody have an Action Script comparison for MX to MX2004? I have already used up the 30 day trial period for MX so I can't use it.

That's so poorly-written I can hardly tell it's spam.

To RCran98053:

My copy of Flash MX doesn't have an Actions -> Movie Command. Did you mean Movie Clip Control, or Movie Control?

In any case, as you gain experience you'll just type the commands instead of asking the program to type the for you. Other than that, can't help since I've never used 2004 (and have no special desire to).

Flash MX2004 only! Purchased on 12/30/03, Macromedia is now only offering this version in trial downlods only.

Like Carl mentioned, in Actions pane goto the right top corner and select 'Expert Mode'. This will let you type any function.

Correct- this is indeed a change in MX 2004.

Well, that's actually an autoresponder to the general Customer Service email
address - and given your question, it sounds as if you were really trying to
contact Tech Support as opposed to Customer Service. A few links to note:

Tech Support Form:
http://www.macromedia.com/support/email/complimentary/main.cgi

Flash Support Home:
http://www.macromedia.com/support/flash/

Feature Request/Bug Report form:
http://www.macromedia.com/go/wish/

Customer Service handles general issues with your account, upgrades, serial
numbers, order status, returns, et al, whereas Technical Support is the
correct group to help resolve issues you may be having with your MM
software. Easy to mix them up, though.

HTH!

Flash MX2004 does NOT[/b} provide an expert/convential mode for scripting.

Further MACROMEDIA doesn't care about this situation, here is a portion of their response:

"Thank you for contacting Macromedia Customer Service.

We appreciate your interest in Macromedia products.

Please be informed that Macromedia Customer Service is not technically trained
to answer your questions. We suggest that you searched on the given resources
below:"

Kind of tells you what they think of customer support.
