flash actionscript: I am a begginer @ actionscript ... i know the rest of flash fairly well

I know that there has to be a way for me to use a button inside of a movie
clip to go to a different scene

I have tried the basic goto command and the _root. and _parent. prefixes
but I can't seem to get out of the movie clip ...

I need to get this fixed so I can finish the movie and submit it for a school
webpage. If you fix it you can use any parts of the clip, but please put "sky"
somewhere around it and send me an e-mail that you are using it

Attached is the movie - I had some guy that I don't know help me with the
original scripting and the library is really messy but If I just could get the
buttons to work in the "[h]menu[/h]" movie clip to go to the scenes of the main
movie i would bow to your awesome flash abilities
