i've encounter this problem a while ago, and as far as i can remember there
was no problem when the default mail program was office outlook, however the
same command didn't work when the default mail program was outlook express -
and as the previous repliers wrote - u can't rely on that.

good luck,

There is no general solution without going to a third party tool.

in general it won't .. it depends on player version and operating system etc
etc. If it happens to work for you, then that's not good enough if you want
to distribute the projector exe to other people, 'cause it probably won't
work for them.

There are LOTS of forum pots about email problems in projectors .. and it is
part of the reason for tools like Flash Jester's emailing tool etc.

I don't get the logic here. I've heard mentions of security issues being the
reason that we can no longer use mailto: commands

But surely being able to have an active link for your email address or a link
to your website or a link to a pdf document, are like the 'CORE' basic
requirements of any stand-alone flash presentation.

For me this is a giant step backwards. What's the point of recommending Flash
if these faetures can't be easily intergrated and reliable on crossplatform.
Why do I now have to write an Applescript to open a PDF file?

Forget about all the new features that Flash MX 2004 might have, if it can't
perfrom these basic functions, it's dead in the water.

For Mailto you can use JEmail from FlashJester it's FREE.

http://jemail.flashjester.com

It will work on all PC machines.

and for PDF and other documents use JStart

http://jstart.flashjester.com

Download FREE evaluation copies and try it for yourself.

Our third party tools lets you create CD-ROMS apps more easily.

Hope the above helps.
