Basically I am fairly new to Flash MX, but there is a Flash movie that I want
to be able to substitute the pictures
in and use. The overall movie is what I want, but I would just like to know
how to use my pics. Also, does anyone
know how to view Flash code? I think if I can see the "code" for a swf file,
then I'll be able to figure out how to substitute
the pictures. Please help...

you can't see the code in a swf file unless you decompile it. there are
decompilers available, but it wouldn't be an ideal way to learn actionscript.
you would be better served to use a flash tutorial which made transparent the
code used and the resulting effect.

To add to kglad: assuming that you do not talk/read/understand Russian. What
would be the better way to learn. Picking up a copy of Tolstojs Anna
Karenina, or grab a book called, 'Russian for beginners' which will provide
you with the basics.
Maybe the first option is not so bad if it was an annotated publication, but
I feel that there's not a lot of coders out there that will comment their
code so with the purpose of making other people understand.
Just start with the tutorials and/or a basics book and turn to us here with
everything you cannot find out yourself.
