flash actionscript:
i have a byte preloader that shows a percentage bar for progress and it
displays fine with IE on a mac, but when it's viewed with IE on a PC, it
doesn't work. it seems like it never gets to the preloader because there's just
a white screen while the movie loads (which takes quite a while), then it skips
right to the flash movie without ever showing the preloader.

i have "export in first frame" unchecked for the preloader component and am
using the latest version of the flash player on both the pc and the mac. (these
are the only two possible solutions i've come across, and neither of them help.)

has anyone else had this problem? the flash movie is

[quoted text, click to view]

you should not open SWF directly , some browser load it as single junk of file regardless what you
have inside.
Place it in html and your problem is solved.
Plus, it gain on esthetics as well, you po pup will have path to the file in the place of title , top
of the window , which isn't neat . Using html you can define your own title, look more pro .
